We all have night time routines and rituals that allow us to leave the day behind, but have you ever wondered how other women, in particular, how a supermodel gets herself unready behind closed doors?
First on our list is model, businesswomen and mother, Miranda Kerr. She openly gave us insight into how she gets herself unready each day, including the rituals she relies on to keep her life in balance, what she considers her biggest luxury, and why it’s important to have some Wi-Fi-free time.
Why She’s an Unashamed Homebody . . .
“I love to sleep, it’s one of my favourite things, you know? And I’m such a homebody, naturally. I’m a tactile person, so all the fabrics in my room are soft and all different fabrics that are soothing and calming.”
Her Favourite Way to Make Time For Herself . . .
“For me, it’s having a warm bath. I really like to take a bath (obviously that’s not every night!), but when I get the luxury to take a bath, or when I’ve had a really busy day, just to take a bath is a luxury. One of my favourites baths is actually just a mix of baking soda, sea salt, and two drops of lavender mixed in the bath.”
Her Thoughts on Wi-Fi . . .
“I have a button that I press that turns off all the Wi-Fi in the house . . . I just feel, in the whole scheme of things, it [Wi-Fi] hasn’t been around for the longest time, so when we have a time, or a chance to switch it off, and turn off the phone, or turn off the Wi-Fi, we should. It can’t hurt! You know what I mean? Just going back to our natural rhythm. It’s the same with checking your phone before you go to sleep. If I’m away from Flynn obviously I will always do that, but when I know that he is here, and safely tucked away in bed there’s nothing more than I love to turn my phone on flight mode and just zone out.”
The One Thing She Always Does Before Bed . . .
“I always love to read after I put Flynn down to bed, and do a little meditation.”
